ZDE will once again be a media partner of E-world energy & water in Essen in 2026. This builds on the successful collaboration of recent years and underscores our role as a center of expertise in the fields of energy, digitalization, and municipal affairs.
E-world is Europe’s largest trade fair for the energy industry and will bring together representatives from the energy sector, municipal utilities, grid operators, technology and administration in Essen from February 10th to 12th, 2026. The focus will be on current developments, new solutions and strategic issues for an increasingly digitalized and networked energy world.

Accompanying technical publication for E-world 2026
To coincide with E-world energy & water 2026, the ZDE (German Energy Agency) is publishing a companion publication addressing current developments and key issues in the energy and municipal utility sectors. The focus is on topics related to digitalization, new business models, and the role of municipal utilities in an increasingly interconnected energy system. The content was developed in collaboration with Lübeck Municipal Utilities and ENERVIE Service GmbH and offers a well-founded, practical analysis of highly topical issues. The publication thus complements the trade fair by providing in-depth perspectives and offers guidance beyond the event itself.
