The time has come, the winners of our Open Call from the PilotInnCities project have been announced!<\/p>\n
We can look back on a highly exciting pitch phase and diverse, creative applications. The task of the independent jury of experts to make a selection from these applications was anything but easy. We would like to thank the volunteer judges and, of course, all the applicant teams. Five of these teams will now be able to realise their ideas in a real Smart Region environment in the district of Wunsiedel as part of a six-month pilot project. We will be delighted to accompany this process and will of course report on its progress. But what are the specific projects and who is realising them? <\/p>\n
Incoretex GmbH will be working on the question of how the fill levels of waste bins in remote hiking car parks near Kirchenlamitz without connection to the power grid can be monitored and made visible to relevant user groups as easily as possible. This serves to increase efficiency and the quality of stay in a rural region characterised by tourism. <\/p>\n
Ideenkultivierung GmbH will also set up an app for Kirchenlamitz, which will use a citizen science approach to utilise the movement data of cyclists, enriched with further information, e.g. on road conditions, to improve cycle path infrastructure and thus promote sustainable mobility in rural areas.<\/p>\n
In Marktleuthen, the booking of municipal properties is being developed using the example of a municipal sports hall \u2013 the project is being implemented by Hypertegrity AG. In addition to online booking and a modern administrative backend, an urban data platform with room sensors is being used. This allows occupancy and environmental data to be recorded in real time and the use of public infrastructure to be optimised on the basis of data. <\/p>\n
In future, the hiking trails around Bad Alexandersbad could offer an even better recreational experience with the help of augmented reality, provide up-to-date information on attractions in the surrounding area and become more easily accessible for certain target groups with individual user profiles. Venus GmbH is trialling the technical possibilities along the way on a pilot hiking trail. <\/p>\n
The company wikimove is adding new functionalities to the existing \u2018FichtelBaxi\u2019 on-demand bus system, digitising the ordering process and integrating real-time vehicle position data into the corresponding app. The aim is to significantly improve the user experience of an urgently needed on-demand mobility service in an area with a weak public transport network. <\/p>\n
We are looking forward to the pilot phase and hope to be able to expand the agile piloting methodology even further in the future.<\/p>\n
